The boys are back in town

I arrived back at Falsterbo yesterday for the autumn season. This month and next I'll be working in the reedbed at Flommen along with young Mr Brinkman. Great to see him again.

Great to see everyone else again, too, including Måns. Here we are photographing this morning's Grasshopper Warbler:

And here it is, a smart 1cy bird:

It was, with a strong westerly wind blowing, a poor morning for ringing. We caught just 12 birds (totals online — click Ringing) with the only other bird of any real interest from a UK point of view being this 1cy Marsh Warbler.

The wind did have its advantages; two juvenile Long-tailed Skuas were off the west side of the peninsula, and a Black-throated Dive flew past.

As in spring, I'll try and keep the blog updated as often as possible — in the meantime, you can keep an eye on things on the FBO website.
